Particular plants and fruits provide a peel derived naturally, called Glycolic acid (alpha-hydroxy acid). Glycolic Acid is the most often form of alpha-hydroxy, created from sugar cane. In using the peel, new growth of skin and collagen are stimulated as the bond holding dead skin on top gets weaker.

Dead skin gradually lessens, revealing both softer and smoother skin. The whole procedure takes a few minutes and it is recommended to perform them at two to three week intervals to achieve the best results.

Treatments that are often recommended for people who have oilier skin or an acne problem are chemical peels. These include beta peels which consist of Beta Hydroxy acids that are nothing more than acids naturally found in fruit or created in a lab. Salicylic acid has been a popular treatment for acne for many years now. It is a common beta hydroxyl acid that promotes skin cell generation while cleansing the pores. It is far gentler than alpha hydroxyl acids and is capable of going deeper.

A good product to use for photo-aging and irregular pigmentation is Mandelic acid. It comes from bitter almonds. Mandelic acid helps suppress pigmentation and brings photo -aged skin back to life.When combined with Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid makes a chemical peel that shows promise for melasma, lentigenes and fine photo-aging damage when used weekly or bi-weekly.
