Leg Veins

Definition: Visible veins on the legs are often called Spider veins or Varicose veins. Varicose are veins that have become enlarged and tortuous. The term commonly refers to the veins on the leg, although varicose veins can occur elsewhere. Spider veins are smaller and more superficial. Leg veins are genetic and found on approximately 70% of females and 40% of males.
