Sweating is necessary to control body temperature during times of exercise and warm/hot surroundings. Sweating is regulated by the sympathetic nervous system. In a small percentage of the population (0.6-1.0%), the amount of sweating exceeds the body's requirements. This condition is known as Hyperhidrosis. The areas of the body most often affected by Hyperhidrosis are the hands, feet and underarms. Excessive sweating is a treatable condition and results remain constant across all areas of treatment.

BOTOX® is approved by the FDA for the treatment of Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating). BOTOX® works by inhibiting the nerve endings from transmitting signals to the sweat glands. The result of this inhibition is a decrease in the amount of sweating in the treated areas.

While the exact cause of Hyperhidrosis is unknown, there is a solution to this affliction. BOTOX® treatments have been found effective to significantly reduce and possibly eliminate the effects of this condition for an average of 6-12 months for the treated areas. While the effects of BOTOX® treatments are temporary, it is among the safest and most effective treatments for excessive sweating that is available today.
